About

Lisa Parani holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Lisa is a native Floridian who has lived in Orlando throughout her life.  She began her career in Social Work with a passion for understanding Infant and Maternal Mental Health in 2005 which led to a career within the Child Welfare and Dependency Court System.  She then transitioned into her long term goal of providing therapy in an Outpatient setting after having her daughter in 2009.  She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2007 and began working in a private practice setting in 2013.  She has continued to work within different therapeutic capacities both online, in-home and in-office.

Lisa has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families in all capacities.  Her passions center around trauma, OCD, new mothers experiencing uncertainty and feelings of being overwhelmed, expecting, adoptive and single parents, (because she believes having children is the hardest job you will ever love), and those struggling with infertility.  She truly enjoys working with teenagers, (whom are often difficult to reach), young adults in college, individuals struggling with emotional difficulties, such as depression and anxiety, and couples who want to work towards strengthening their connection or the completion of their relationship.

The basis of Lisa’s practice rests upon a foundation built on trust and colloboration between therapist and client, which in turn truly enables one’s growth.    She believes the therapeutic process is determined together which maximizes growth potential.  Modalities of treatment that she utilizes are EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing to address trauma and other struggles), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (the understanding of how thoughts affect feelings and feelings affect behaviors), ERP, (Exposure Response Prevention to treat OCD, anxiety and phobias), ICBT, (Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and Holistic Health, (understanding the Mind, Body, Spirit connections).
