Alot of modalities used in therapy have spiritual underpinnings and one of those is the belief that “there is no separateness”. And as for this week, that was the lesson. In my readings, my meditations and my social media feeds, this Buddhist belief was persistent in being seen. I have known that intuitively my entire life and have worked to embody this into my day to day existence as best as I can, but this week the message has been determined to be delivered. Tonight, it hit me like a ton of bricks that the message was here to help me understand why my week has been so emotionally taxing, (I felt sad, anxious and frustrated often), and it is because “there is no separateness”. When this lesson presented continually and I continued being curious about it rather than push it away, I realized it is primarily due to the events that are occurring in Israel and Palestine. I am a feeler and all week, I have felt this heavy pain that I would imagine is being felt throughout our globe and remembering that there is no separateness puts things in perspective.
We are all connected; born from the same matter. Not one of us is “better than” or “worse than” another at the cellular/soul level. It is our human experiences that we see, rather than the energetic experience, which does not contain feelings and is perfect because it is energy, (the quantitative property that is transferred to a body or to a physical system, recognizable in the performance of work and in the form of heat and light, Wikipedia, 2023). The bad part is, (the reason this horrific genocide is occurring), is because we take the human experience and believe our “experiences” prove we are separate, which results in those who are “better” and those who are “worse”; we then promote division and separation.
If we learn how to believe more in our connectedness versus our separateness, we can change the world.
